Maple Farm Dairy

Brian Gay, owner of Maple Farm Dairy, takes pride in offering reliable home delivery of fresh farm products just as his family has done for generations.

In today's fast-paced world, many people assume a delivery from the neighborhood milkman is a thing of the past. But the old time custom is alive and well with Maple Farm Dairy. The service is owned and operated by Brian Gay. His grandfather's uncle originally started the business in Mendon in 1929, and it has stayed in the family ever since, offering dairy products, grass fed beef, eggs from free range chickens, fresh cheeses, coffee, and delicious bakery items, all delivered fresh to your doorstep.
Now headquartered in Northbridge, Maple Farm Dairy provides a wide variety of fresh offerings from farm stands in the area, including Oakhurst and Monroe Dairy. "They're all things you'd have to go a farm to get if you didn't have my service," says Gay. Customers sign on for a standard delivery once per week or more, with a $9 minimum per order. A metal insulated milk box is then provided to keep products fresh at drop off. All products are guaranteed fresh for 10 days, including the milk, delivered fresh off the refrigerated delivery trucks in old-fashioned glass bottles. According to Gay, the freshness can't be beat. "Our milk is in the customer's refrigerator within 24 hours of being bottled." The milk is free from growth hormones, and no antibiotics are used on any of the cows.
Brian took over the business from his uncle in 1982, and is proud of the history of Maple Farm Dairy. He recalls riding the delivery route with his grandfather as a young child, and wonders if his own son will take over the business from him one day. He notes his family's ongoing commitment to customer service, as evidenced by the many long-term customers. He has three drivers on his staff, all of whom have been with him for ten years or more, delivering to 20 towns in the area. "We run three trucks a day, five days a week, and we haven't missed a day since I started," Gay says proudly. Customers can call as late as 1 a.m. the day of delivery to change or add to their order.
In addition to home delivery, Maple Farm Dairy serves wholesale accounts, such as local coffee shops and bakeries. Current customers who refer new ones are rewarded with a farm fresh breakfast. For more information, contact Maple Farm Dairy in Northbridge at 508-478-MILK (6455).
