GMCC Prepping for Fall SeasonCategory : General
MILFORD-The Greater Milford Community Chorus (GMCC) fall season is approaching and members are extending an invitation to all who enjoy singing to join them in preparation for their four winter concerts by attending the first of three open rehearsals on Wednesday, September 5 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 30 School St., Milford.
GMCC is open, without audition, to all singers aged 18 and older. A fundamental understanding of reading music is required, plus a serious commitment to both rehearsal and concert schedules. The Hundredth Town Chorus Needs SingersCategory : General

WESTBOROUGH-The Hundredth Town Chorus (HTC) will begin its fall session on Wednesday, September 5, and is searching for new female singers to join. No auditions are required. There is a need for new voices of all ages and in all parts. Rehearsals run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays at Congregation B’nai Shalom, 117 E. Main St., Westborough. The chorus is not affiliated with the synagogue. There are no night or weekend rehearsals or obligations. All performances are also held on Wednesday mornings. Women are invited to come to rehearsal and join right in or to observe. No fundraising or ticket selling is asked of its members.

Knights of Columbus Foxwoods TripCategory : General
MILFORD-The Knights of Columbus Valencia Council 80 is sponsoring a Foxwoods trip on Friday September 7. The bus will leave the municipal parking lot across from Sacred Heart Church, Milford, at 4 p.m. and leave Foxwoods at 11 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and includes transportation, a free buffet and $10 in slot plays. Anyone interested in attending must reserve a spot by August 31 by calling James Burke at 508-478-9813. The trip is open to anyone age 21 and above. Proceeds will benefit the Council’s Scholarship Fund.

NORTHBOROUGH-The Hearing Loss Association-Central Massachusetts Chapter is sponsoring a presentation for hard-of-hearing people interested in issues affecting them and their loved ones on Saturday, September 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Northborough Free Library.
Dr. Keith Darrow is a world-renowned Auditory Scientist trained at both M.I.T. and Harvard Medical School who will speak on Hearing Loss and Cognition. MENDON-The 1st Annual Lake Nipmuc Association Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, September 8 at the Mendon Town Beach, 45 Taft Ave. Registration opens at 7 a.m. with the derby running from 9 a.m. to Noon. Prizes include cash, and certificates for Pinz, Canobie Lake Park, Alpine Zipline, Loon Mountain, Candia Springs Park and more. Coffee and donuts provided by the Lake Nipmuc Association.
