Fundraiser for Brain Tumor ResearchCategory : General
FRANKLIN-Join Mendon and Upton residents Deb Gaulitz and Kate Bett for a “Best of British” tasting as they raise money for Brain Tumor Research. Why “Best of British”? Because they will be running the London Marathon in April in memory of Bett’s brother-in-law Mark Adamo who died from brain cancer. The tragic reality
is that less than 20 percent of those diagnosed survive beyond five years.

WHITINSVILLE-The Blackstone Valley Garden Club will meet on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church, 61 Linwood Ave, Whitinsville, parking is off Church St. at the rear of the building. Tina Bemis of Bemis Farm Nursery in Spencer will speak on Making a Tufa Trough. She will demonstrate how to make a succulent trough garden, beginning with the making of a hypertufa trough. Hypertufa is a compound which mimics the look of old hewn stone and its appearance improves with age. Bemis’ sample creation will go home with a lucky raffle winner. Guests are welcome for $5.

Living with Hearing Loss: Share Your ExperiencesCategory : General

NORTHBOROUGH-The Hearing Loss Association of American-Central Massachusetts’ Saturday March 16 “meeting” at the Northborough Free Library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. will not be the typical chapter meeting. Instead, everyone will be the speakers during the meeting. Attendees will break into small groups to identify common issues experienced with hearing loss and brainstorm potential solutions. Everyone will come back together as a full group to find out what each of the groups came up with.
