John Clements

John Clements, the new Nipmuc Regional High School Principal.

Current Assistant Principal of Nipmuc Regional High School, John Clements will become the new Principal on July 1, taking over from Joan Scribner who is retiring.

Clements is very excited to move into his new role but noted he has some big shoes to fill. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Boston University and his Masters of Education from Fitchburg State University. He then went on to Worcester State University in the Educational Leadership program completing their Educational Leadership Licensure Program. From 1994-2004 Clements taught English at Nipmuc.

Clements explained his father is a teacher and he himself thought he would teach for the remainder of his career. At the urging of Scribner and the former Assistant Principal, Clements applied for the Assistant Principal position when it became available in 2004.

Clements explained that working with Scribner has been a blessing. He said he was very young when he became the Assistant Principal and he noted over time he and Scribner became partners.

Clements said he is looking forward to leading the staff and students and looks at his job as principal as a new challenge. His hope is to bring stability and a new direction to Nipmuc given the recent budget cuts.

He explained that he and the school need to move forward.

Clements considers the Mendon-Upton School district home and cannot think of a better place to be the principal.

Married with two young boys age 2 and 4, Clements and his family live in Grafton.
