Fernandes Honors Milford Police Lifesavers

Submitted · August 01, 2011
Rep. John V. Fernandes, D-Milford, had the distinct honor of hosting three lifesavers from the Milford Police Department before a full formal session of the Massachusetts House of Representatives held on June 15. "One of the most solemn honors I have as a State Representative is to bring local heroes from the community into the House Chamber and have them officially recognized by Representatives from across the Commonwealth," said Fernandes. Milford Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin, Shift Commander Sgt. Heron, Officer Robert Tusino, Dispatcher Rebecka LaPierre and Dispatcher Kim St. Amant joined Representative Fernandes at the Massachusetts State House, where House leadership spoke of the combined lifesaving efforts of this trained, calm and rapid-response trio, which directly resulted in the rescue of a 14-old child in a serious choking incident. Their story was made part of the permanent historical record of the House of Representatives.
