School Highlights

Clough: Clough families are invited to the Clough Family Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. on December 16. The movie that will be playing is A Muppet Christmas Carol, and popcorn and water will be served. The evening is sponsored by the PTO and organized by parent volunteer Sue Allen. Voluntary donations of new or gently used long underwear tops, long underwear bottoms, or individually packaged healthy snacks for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) would be greatly appreciated.

Students had fun shopping for their families and friends the week of December 5-9 at the Holiday Shop sponsored by the PTO and organized by parent volunteer Tammy Giardini.

Parents and children are invited to the Clough Preschool Open House on January 20 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration for the Mendon-Upton Integrated Preschool will be held the week of January 22-27.

Clough's guidance counselor, Donna Mattson is retiring at the end of December after 30 years with our district. The Clough Administration wishes her all the best.



Memorial: The PTO sponsored their annual Holiday Shop to provide all students with the opportunity to purchase low-cost holiday gifts for their family members and friends. It was a great chance to add relevance to instruction by giving students the chance to practice the skills that they have learned around estimating, counting money, and making change.

The Charles River Bank School Savings Program is now "up and running". Students are invited to bring their donations to school for deposit each Tuesday morning. All students making a deposit are eligible to participate in raffles for exciting prizes. Parents can get additional information and complete account applications by visiting the Charles River Bank in Mendon.

Meteorologist Matt Noyes from NECN visited second grade students to discuss the weather and forecasting on December 6.



Miscoe: There will be a 7th grade concert on December 20 at 7 p.m. in the Miscoe Auditorium.

There will be an 8th grade concert on December 21 at 7 p.m. in the Miscoe Auditorium.



Nipmuc: The winter athletic season is about to begin and schedules for girls and boys basketball, indoor track, and hockey can be viewed at www.highschoolsports.net.

Students in Nipmuc's Advanced Placement English and Math courses will have the opportunity to participate in two Saturday sessions to be hosted at Nipmuc Regional. Students in English courses will have the chance to participate in a mock exam on January 7. Students taking AP Calculus will participate in a session on January 21.

Nipmuc wishes the following students congratulations and the best of luck in their all-state music auditions to take place in January: Elena Robakiewicz (chorus), Andrew Oglesby (trumpet), David Byer (timpani), and Corey Imparato (trombone).

Nipmuc's National Honor Society will hold its annual induction on January 19 at 7 p.m.

The annual Winter Semiformal dance will be held on January 21 at 7 p.m. at the Milford Doubletree Hotel. This event is hosted by Nipmuc's student council.

On January 24 Nipmuc will host a Breakfast with Guidance on "Beginning the College Search: A Guide to Post-Secondary Planning for Parents of Juniors." This event will take place from 8-9 a.m. in the Nipmuc Professional Development Center. Please email Ona Moore at omoore@mursd.org to reserve your seat for this presentation.
