Milford High School Theater Workshop will be bringing a tale of "life, love, and death" to the stage with next weekend's performance of Our Town.

Our Town by Thornton Wilder tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.

"The two main characters grow up and start to realize the importance of life, even in a small town," said Theater Advisor Maggie Girouard. "It's really about the human experience."

The Pulitzer Prize winning Our Town has a message that many will identify with, said Girouard, which is why the Theater group felt it would be so appealing to audiences.

"Everyone grows up, everyone falls in love, and everyone at one time or another struggles with figuring out their place in this world," she said. "Everyone can relate to this story."

Over 100 cast and crew members have been preparing for the show since mid-September, rehearsing and creating a minimalistic set that mirrors the play's original vision of a little to no scenery.

The show features the main characters of The Stage Manager (played by Jillian Kelley, Caitlin Tolpin, and Bridget Mack), George Gibbs (John Probert), and Emily Webb (Eilat Tabak) under the direction of Student Director Diane Reardon.

Performances are on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m. in the Davoren Auditorium at Milford High School. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the show for $5 for students and $10 for adults.
