Dispatchers Recognized for “Exemplary Actions”

Submitted · February 04, 2017
Public Safety Dispatchers Lisa Trusas (third from left) and Kim St. Armant (second from right) recently were recognized publicly by the Board of Selectmen, Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin and the Massachusetts 911 Department and for their actions in helping nine-year old Maddie Sweeney (left) and her parents, James (second from left) and Cheryl Sweeney (right). During their 911 call, Maddie stopped breathing and her parents were instructed how to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while police officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene. While Trusas talked to the parents, St. Armant coordinated the public safety response to their home. O'Loughlin called the two dispatchers' efforts "exceptional and worthy of great praise" and the board called them "swift, decisive and heroic actions."
