Finalists for Stacy Middle School Assistant Principal

The field of candidates has been narrowed to three "highly- qualified" individuals for the Assistant Principal position at Stacy Middle School, school officials announced in an April 5 Press Release.

The position is being filled due to the retirement of current Stacy Assistant Principal Dawn Craig at the end of June.

The three candidates being considered are Christopher Cook, Science Curriculum Liaison for Grades 6-12 in the New Hope- Solebury School District in New Hope, Penn; Racquel Martinez, Principal Intern in the Boston Public School District; and Kimberly Rocha, English teacher in the Nashoba Regional School district in Bolton.

After vetting the three from a stack of resumes, the candidates had the opportunity to tour the school and meet with the faculty members during the day and meet with the Milford community at a public forum during the evening on April 9. Superintendent of School Dr. Kevin McIntyre listed the qualifications of each of the candidates in the release.

Cook has worked in the New Hope-Solebury School District since 2010, both as a science educator and as a curriculum leader. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Boston College along with his Master's Degree in Education, and then earned a Master of Education Degree from Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania, completing the K-12 Principal Certification Program. Cook also spent five years teaching Science at Natick High School in Natick.

Along with serving as a Principal Intern in the Boston Public School District, Martinez is also working to complete her Master's Degree in Education with a focus on School Leadership from Harvard University, which she will receive this coming May. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's College, her Master's Degree from Queens College in New York and previously worked at an International School in Germany as an English Language Specialist.

Rocha, has been working in the Nashoba Regional School District for the past six years, and has over 16 years of teaching experience at the middle and high school levels. She is also the Administrative Intern in the Nashoba Regional District and holds a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Endicott College, a Master of Arts Degree from Clark University and received her Bachelor's Degree from Stonehill College. Rocha is also licensed as an Assistant Principal/Principal for grades 5-12. Rocha has also completed post-graduate coursework at Northeastern University, Fitchburg State University, Worcester State University, and Cambridge College.
