• Approved the Insurance Advisory

Committee's recommendation to accept the 2019 medical insurance rates for Medicare-eligible retirees. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Medex II with Blue Medicare Rx rates will go up by 1.66 percent, which translates into a $2.65 per month increase for retirees. The Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO rates will remain unchanged. (October 22)

• Heard a report from Town Administrator Richard Villani that

work to replace the drainage system under the Dilla St. entry/exit into Wendy's restaurant will take place from November 2 through December 14, with a final coat of pavement to be finished next May. During the construction, all entries and exits from Wendy's will take place on Cedar St. (Rt. 85). "I'm glad that 'Lake Wendy' is being addressed," Selectman William Buckley said.

• Villani reported that Busy Bee Landscaping & Construction has hydro-seeded the two vacant lots on Central St. where the town tore down buildings, and added graffiti on another

Landscaping & Construction has completed removing weeds in the downtown area, from the 99 Restaurant on East Main St. (Rt. 16) to just passed Milford Regional Medical Center on Main St. (Rt. 16). (October 22)

• Granted to the Milford High School Boosters Club to holds its annual Thanksgiving 5K run/walk starting at 7:30 a.m. at Milford High School. (October 22)

• Approved a one-day Wine and Malt Beverages license for the Milford Performing Arts Center to hold "cabaret" from 7-11 p.m. on November 16 and November 17 at 150 Main St. (Rt. 16). (October 22)

• Granted a Permit to Obstruct a Public Way to the Milford Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post to sell poppies from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 26 and 28 at Stop & Shop on Medway Road (Rt. 109) and on October 27 at Oliva's on East Main St. (Rt. 16). (October 22)

• Accepted a $50 gift from Ann Marie Phaneuf to the Friends of Milford Upper Charles Trail. (October 22)

• Agreed with Police Chief Thomas

O'Loughlin's recommendation to have the Highway Department erect signs in both directions on Congress St. to alert motorists that there is a crosswalk at Congress St. and Blanchard Rd.

The recommendation comes after a complaint by Lori Fanning-Szarka that vehicles were failing to stop for pedestrians at or in that crosswalk. (October 22)

• Granted a Permit to Obstruct a Public Way to the Milford Department of Veterans Services to hold the annual Veterans' Day Parade on Monday, November 12. Units will assemble in the parking lot adjacent the 99 Restaurant on East Main St. (Rt. 16) at 9:30 a.m.

and step off at 10 a.m., proceed up East Main St. to Calzone Park and then proceed up Main St. (Rt. 16) to Draper Memorial Park. (October 22)

• Accepted, with regret, the resignation of Salvatore Comino from the Geriatric Authority of Milford. (October 22)

• Reviewed O'Loughlin's quarterly report on police activity at licensed establishments through September 30. (October 22)

• Accepted, with regret, the resignation of Robert Buckley from the Conservation Commission after more than 25 years of service. (October 22)
