Milford Election Nomination Papers Available January 7

It's almost election season in Milford again. Nomination papers for Milford's April 2, 2019 Annual Town Election will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 7, in the Town Clerk's office.

To qualify for an elected official position, candidates need to be registered voters in Milford and to have legible signatures from 50 or more registered voters; for new Town Meeting Members, the amount is 30 or more signatures of registered voters from within their own precinct

Town Clerk Amy Hennessy Neves provided the schedule of deadlines for candidates:

• Monday, January 7 (8:30 a.m.) – Nomination papers available (at the Town Clerk's

office).

• Friday, February 8 (5 p.m.) – Last day to obtain nomination papers (at the Town

Clerks office).

• Tuesday, February 12 (5 p.m.) – Last day to submit nomination papers to Registrars of

Voters (at the Town Clerk's office) for certification.

• Tuesday, February 26 (5 p.m.) – Last day for the Board of Registrars to file nomination

papers with the Town Clerk.

• Thursday, February 28 (5 p.m.) – Last day to withdraw nomination papers (at the

Town Clerk's office).

• Wednesday, March 13 (8 p.m.) – Last day to register to vote (at the Town Clerk's

office) in the Annual Town Election.

• Tuesday, April 2: Annual Town Election– polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Campaign finance reports are due from all candidates on the ballot, even if a candidate does not receive or spend any campaign funds. The first report – for the period from January 1 through March 15 – is due by 5 p.m. on March 26 (eight days before the election). The second report is due

by 5 p.m. on May 2 (30 days after the election), for transactions occurring between March 20 and April 22. The third report is due by 5 p.m. on January 20, 2020 for "year-end" transactions occurring between April 23 and December 31, 2019.



Positions Open in Milford's Annual Town Election

The following is a list of positions open in the April 2, 2019 Annual Town Election:

• Board of Assessors: three-year term, now held by Joseph Arcudi

• Board of Health: three-year term, now held by Gerald Hennessy

• Board of Library Trustees: two, three-year terms, now held by Rory D'Alessandro and John

Byrnes

• Board of Selectmen: three-year term, now held by Michael Walsh

• Board of Sewer Commissioners: three-year term, now held by Richard Cenedella

• Park Commission: three-year term, now held by Paul Pellegrini

• Planning Board: five-year term, now held by Joseph Calagione

• Housing Authority: five-year term, now held by Loriann Braza

• School Committee: two, three-year terms, now held by James Ligor and Joseph Morais)

• Trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery: two, three-year terms, now held by Marilyn Lovell and

Scott Vecchiolla

• Constables: All five seats are open, now held by Joseph Arcudi, Mark Calzolaio, Nadine

Ladeau, Raymond Pagucci and Mark Tosti

There also will be 10 Town Meeting Members elected in each precinct.
