Local Riders Help with Cancer Research

Of the $35 million raised for cancer research by cyclists of the 2011 Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, 33 Milford Mendon and Upton residents raised $140,000. They were among the 5,169 cyclists who rode up to 190 miles across Massachusetts to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The $35 million was recently presented to Dana-Farber. Pictured are two of the local cyclists, both of Milford, Meredith McCarthy, left, and Richard McCarthy.
