Milford Micros Blasts Franklin, 10-2

By Nick Rando Sports Intern · June 18, 2012
The Milford Micros baseball team improved to 3-0 on the young season after blowing away Franklin by a final score of 10-2. Milford seemed to have everything go their way as the team saw strong pitching combined with clutch hitting and solid defense lead them to victory on Tuesday.
Milford was led by starting pitcher, Mike Tracy, who went six strong innings and only allowed two earned runs. Tracy took control of the game early and sent a strong message to Franklin by striking out two of the first three batters he faced.
"Tracy had real good control, good command, and blew away most of the kids," said Milford Micros coach Jim Cappadoro. "Hopefully we can just ride (Tracy) out for the rest of the season."
Tracy's strong pitching performance was nearly out-done by the offensive explosion that took place at a rainy Fino Field.
Milford piled on 10 runs against the seemingly out-matched Franklin squad, in large part due to the performance of left fielder, Mike Tarolli.
Tarolli was the thorn in the side of Franklin's pitchers, going 4-for-4 with an RBI.
The Milford Micros squad will continue to build off of their early success as they prepare to play Bellingham at home on Saturday, June 16 at 7 p.m.
"Always love starting out fast at 3-0," said Cappadoro. "Now we're really excited for Bellingham on Saturday."
