Seven from Nipmuc Sign Sports Letters of Intent

Seven Nipmuc Regional High School students have committed to play their respective sport at the collegiate level next fall. The seniors were recognized at a ceremony on February 3, National Signing Day. Seven Nipmuc Regional High School athletes have signed their Letters of Intent and will be off to play their respective sport at the collegiate level next fall.
The school held a ceremony to acknowledge this accomplishment on February 3, which is National Signing Day.
Surrounded by their families, coaches, administrators and teammates, the athletes were congratulated by Nipmuc's Athletic Director Christopher Schmidt.
"We are here to acknowledge these student athletes that are taking that next step," said Schmidt. "The commitment that they have made to their sport is something to be recognized."
Each of the athletes was announced in turn, and photos were taken with family members and coaches before the group was invited to a reception in their honor.
The following Nipmuc students were recognized:
• Kiley Larocque from Upton will be playing soccer at St. Anselm College. Kiley will be studying Biology with a track to study Pharmacy.
• Kayla Peabody from Mendon will be playing softball at Assumption College and plans to study Sports Management.
• Amanda St. Germain from Upton will be playing soccer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she plans to major in Biomedical Engineering.
• Kevin Hack from Uxbridge will be joining the Track and Field team at Assumption College and will be majoring in Biology/Pre Med.
• Grant Jorgensen from Upton will be playing football at Norwich University. Grant will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Norwich with future plans to join the Navy.
• Ryan Nordquist from Mendon will be playing baseball at Gordon College, where he will major in business.
• Tom Sperino from Mendon will be playing baseball at Franklin Pierce University. Tom will be entering college undeclared but has an interest in studying sports management and health services.
Congratulations were extended to these athletes and each was wished the best of luck with his/her athletic endeavors next year.
